Effective today, we've increased the data retention period for reports generated in Rocket Validator.
Report data encompasses all the information generated from a site report, including records of web pages and any accessibility and HTML issues discovered within them. Storing the report results enables you to conveniently review the issues at a later time, eliminating the need for real-time checks.
Although the results obtained from a site are relevant for a short period, their value diminishes over time, necessitating a recommended re-scrape. By doing so, the report can incorporate new pages, exclude deleted pages, and accurately reflect the current state of the identified issues, utilizing the latest versions of the checkers.
These are the new storage periods that will be applied:
- Micro users: increased from 15 to 30 days.
- Basic users: increased from 30 to 60 days.
- Pro users: increased from 90 to 120 days.
- Enterprise users: increaed from 120 to 180 days.
To ensure the site reports remain current, the most effective approach is to schedule them using Rocket Validator. This convenient feature allows you to easily set up automated report runs on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, or after deploying updates. You can find more information on scheduling reports here.
Additionally, if you wish to extract data from your generated reports prior to their deletion, you have the option to utilize the Rocket Validator API or export the report data as Excel files.
