Privacy Policy for Browser Extensions
Last updated: 19 August 2026
Covers the browser extensions published by Lighthouses SCP: Rocket Validator A11y Panel, Rocket Validator Highlighter, and Rocket Validator HTML Guides. The Rocket Validator web application has its own Terms of Service.
Rocket Validator A11y Panel
Reads the page you are viewing, when you open the panel or re-check it.
Sends nothing. The engine and the fonts are bundled, so it makes no network requests at all — not even to us.
Stores nothing. Results live in memory until you close the panel.
No account needed. The Selector and AI Prompt buttons copy to your clipboard and nowhere else.
Rocket Validator Highlighter
Needs a Rocket Validator account. It is opened from one of your reports and rings the elements that report flagged, so it is used while you are signed in. It acts only on a tab opened from Rocket Validator, and never sees your password. The report itself is your account's data, covered by the Terms of Service.
Sends nothing. It makes no network requests.
Stores one session record mapping a tab to the origin allowed to highlight in it. No page content; cleared when that tab navigates away or closes.
The "debugger" permission emulates screen size and user agent, so you can check a page at another device's viewport. It is attached to the tab you are testing, detached afterwards, and never used to read or transmit anything from the page.
Rocket Validator HTML Guides
Runs only on validator.w3.org and validator.nu.
Sends the validator's error message texts to Rocket Validator, to look up the matching guides. Not the URL you validated, not your HTML, and no identifier. No account needed.
Stores your settings — enabled search engines, and the two prefixes — in Chrome's synced storage. They are not sent to us.
What we never do
- No analytics or telemetry of any kind, in any of the three.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of data with third parties.
- No use of anything these extensions handle for creditworthiness or lending.
- No use of anything these extensions handle for anything unrelated to the extension itself.
Changes
If an extension starts handling data differently, this page is updated before that version ships, and the date above changes with it.
